Little Dancing Pear Girl (red)

Born from a real pear, this whimsical sculpture captures the fleeting moment between stillness and movement. The form began with a plaster mould taken from an actual pear—its organic curves and natural asymmetry preserved in slip-cast porcelain, creating a body that feels both familiar and fantastical.

Every delicate element surrounding her—the flowing skirt, outstretched arms, and playful details—was hand-built and attached with care, transforming fruit into dancer. She balances on tiptoe, caught mid-twirl, as if the music only she can hear might stop at any moment.

Finished in shimmering iridescent glaze, she shifts in the light—rose gold to violet, copper to pearl—like the fleeting colours of a sunset or the inside of a shell. Each viewing reveals something new, a quiet magic that rewards attention.
